Hygge and the Art of Winding Down

Here's a little video to help you break the ice using KLAR as a key part of your evening wind down routine.  We also recommend pulling in as many elements of "hygge" (the Scandinavian art of coziness) as you can and I offer tips for that as well.

This is a great little 30 minute routine for evenings or for a weekend when there is a bite in the air or wet/cold weather.

Most Days Our Founder Doesn't Wear Makeup

Most days, Sloane Marley Founder and Maker, Courtney Feider doesn't wear makeup. Ten years ago, she couldn't have said that.  She used make up as a cover and a mask and though she used natural makeup she was in a constant battle to keep her skin even, moisturized and toned in a way that created a good base for make up when she did wear it.  It was an endless cycle of defeat.  With combination skin that is also very sensitive, even the most expensive ingredients rarely worked for her.   Today, Courtney is proud of her laugh lines and the...

Most dry skin is caused by environmental factors, such as temperature, humidity, environmental toxins, and chemical irritants.   Typically, even the symptoms of diagnosed skin disorders can be treated and healed with the right ingredients from nature. I tend to have very sensitive skin and my hands crack around the fingernails and at the knuckles with even one use of some sorts of commercially produced soaps.  My knuckles will crack to a state of bleeding and my heels will get open skin fissures (deep bleeding cracks) when the weather is very hot and dry. The creation of LAGA started as self...

Teens struggle because their skin gets more oily and when they are active, the combination of oil and sweat clogs the pores. Add any environmental dust and dirt and you have a recipe for acne. Products that are typically marketed to teenagers and parents of teens strip the...

How does resveratrol protect the skin?

Resveratrol is an antimicrobial substance produced by plants in response to stress, infection, or strong UV radiation. In recent years, resveratrol has become the subject of intense interest due to its powerful antioxidant and anti-aging properties. Any of us who drink wine also know that resveratrol is one of the components that allows wine to support the body from a longevity perspective.   Each year, we work closely with winemakers to select grapes from particular vineyards where the terroir is rich in nutrients, the vines are established and strong, and the varietal of grapes is made to produce high tannins.  High tannins lead to a...
