How does resveratrol protect the skin?

Resveratrol is an antimicrobial substance produced by plants in response to stress, infection, or intense UV radiation. In recent years, resveratrol has become the subject of low interest due to its powerful antioxidant and anti-aging properties. Any of us who drink wine also know that resveratrol is one of the components that allow the wine to support the body from a longevity perspective.

Each year, we work closely with winemakers to select grapes from particular vineyards where the terroir is rich in nutrients, the vines are established and firm, and the varietal of how the grapes are made to produce high tannins. High tannins lead to a higher yield of resveratrol for our skincare products. Once we take the pomace from the vineyard after harvest, we introduce a customized blend of botanicals and start our aging process, which lasts the next 9-10 months before we use the product. This year, we are beginning to create a lot of aged botanical juice, which will be returned to the vineyard and used as a soil treatment and fertilizer, bringing our process full circle.
